SHAFT's Sasami-san@Ganbaranai Promo Video Reveals Cast
Kana Asumi, Chiwa Saito, Kana Hanazawa, Ai Nonaka, Houchu Ohtsuka in anime helmed by Madoka Magica's Shinbo

The official website for the Sasami-san@Ganbaranai television anime revealed the cast for the anime through a promotional video on Saturday. The Japanese television station TBS first announced the cast during its TBS Anime Festa 2012 event earlier in the day.

Kana Asumi as Sasami Tsukuyomi, the hikikomori
Chiwa Saito as Tsurugi Yagami, the big sister
Kana Hanazawa as Kagami Yagami, the middle sister
Ai Nonaka as Tama Yagami, the little sister
Houchu Ohtsuka as Kamiomi Tsukuyomi, Sasami's brother

Akiyuki Shinbo is teaming up again with his Madoka Magica and Bakemonogatari studio SHAFT to make the television anime of Akira's Sasami-san@Ganbaranai light novel series. Katsuhiko Takayama (And Yet the Town Moves, Love, Election, & Chocolate) is in charge of the scripts, and Hiroki Harada (Romeo × Juliet, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal) is designing the characters.

After his earlier Kyōran Kazoku Nikki novels were adapted into anime in 2008, Akira launched the Sasami-san@Ganbaranai light novel series in 2009. The eighth volume shipped in June.

The series will premiere on the TBS and BS-TBS channels in Japan in January.

Haganai's 2nd Season Slated for January 2013

The official Twitter account for the Haganai (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai) school comedy anime announced on Saturday that the second season will premiere next January on the TBS and BS-TBS television channels.

'To All The Corners Of The World' Manga Gets Anime Film
Black Lagoon's Katabuchi to direct anime of manga by Fumiyo Kono (Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms)

Anime director Sunao Katabuchi (Mai Mai Miracle, Black Lagoon) acknowledged on his Twitter account on Friday that he will be directing an upcoming theatrical anime adaptation of Fumiyo Kono's To All The Corners Of The World (Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni). In his posts to the service, Katabuchi quoted individuals stating that a poster at the Hiroshima Anikomu event for the anime revealed that he would direct the anime at the studio MAPPA, adding that he was on his way to Hiroshima.

Katabuchi also wrote that official character designs for the series have yet to be completed, and that the images on the poster consisted of rough sketches and storyboards. MAPPA founder (and former MADHOUSE head) Masao Maruyama also tweeted on Saturday that while no "embargo" had been lifted yet and that he planned to make an announcement regarding an unspecified title in the near future, he would still like to send his greetings to those who will work with him in the near future.

Little Busters! Anime Replaces Shiho Kawaragi With Yuiko Tatsumi in Cast
Kawaragi announced pregnancy this week; TV anime to premiere in October

The official website of the Little Busters! television anime announced on Friday that Yuiko Tatsumi is replacing Shiho Kawaragi in the role of Mio Nishizono "with Kawaragi's health being our first and foremost consideration." Kawaragi announced on Wednesday that she is pregnant with her first child.

Kawaragi said on Wednesday that she is in her sixth month of pregnancy. She played Mio Nishizono in Key/Visual Art's original Little Busters! visual novel. She also played Sekai Saionji in the School Days visual novel and anime franchise as well as Cheria Barnes in the Tales of Graces role-playing game.

New Hayate the Combat Butler Anime Slated for October 3

This year's 38th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Hayate the Combat Butler: Can't Take My Eyes Off You, the new Hayate the Combat Butler television anime, will premiere on TV Tokyo on October 3 at 26:05 (effectively October 4 at 2:05 a.m.).

The series will tell a new story that is original to the anime and not directly based on existing material from Kenjirou Hata's original manga. However, Hata personally created the story concepts for the new anime.
